Katie was working out on a new treadmill someone had just given us while I was homeschooling in the other room. Suddenly I heard it. The cry that makes a mother's heart stop. I ran into the living room and Preston's hand was stuck under the belt. Katie quickly turned it off, but several layers of skin had been carved off, pretty much to the bone on two fingers. Because the nerve endings had been removed, there was NO blood and Preston didn't feel as much pain as he would have, but we were sent off to Portland for skin graph surgery the next day.

Thank goodness for a father's blessing!

Preston was such a good sport and enjoyed a few days of Mommy/Daddy time (for the most part).

It was a four hour drive to the hospital.
This one breaks my heart.
